KAM Kartway\’s Kick-It Event is Spetember 27th

It\’s time to get our Kick-It Teams lined up!

It\’s good to give back, but for a Race Team its second nature.  All Drivers and Race Teams should have a Cause that they support (Sponsors look for this!).  If you don\’t – or even if you do – join in and help the KAM Family Kick Childhood Cancer!

Last year KAM Kartway Drivers raised over $1,300 for the Jeff Gordon Children\’s Foundation through our Kick-It Fundraiser.  This year we are expanding the event into a full-blown Kickball Game to be held before the races in the pits, and our hope is to double the amount raised last year.

WILL YOU HELP THIS YEAR?

KAM was part of several dirt tracks that raised $115,753 and this year 29 dirt track communities along with Sprint Car events have already raised over $450,000! I am excited to add our KAM Racing Family to that list and help raise funds for Children\’s Cancer Research.  This year Jeff Gordon plans to (again) match up to $150,000 of funds raised.  Through the Kick-It Program at the Jeff Gordon\’s Foundation, almost $700,000 has been raised since May 2012.

We may be a small kart track compared to what the NASCAR drivers can do through a Sprint Car event, but REMEMBER:

No donation or game is too small!

Here is more about Kick-It from the JGF webpage:

  • ABOUT KICK-IT

Kick-It was founded by a 10-year old cancer patient with a big dream – to cure cancer by playing kickball. Now a national fundraising program, Kick-It has raised $800,000 since 2009.  There is one simple goal- to accelerate a cure for children with cancer. No parent should have to watch a child wait for a cure. By organizing a game, joining a team or making a donation, you are helping thousands of children fighting cancer in your hometown and across the country.  Visit www.kick-it.org/jeffgordon to start your team today!

  • “WHY ARE YOU KICKING IT”

Kick-It is launching a national movement to kick cancer out of EVERY childhood.   People will write a message to show support for children with cancer on a sign, take a photo and upload it to a Facebook community page. The campaign will feature people from all walks of life: from pediatric cancer patients to professional athletes. The goal is to have half a million photo messages by September 1st for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

  • WHERE THE FUNDS GO

Funds raised benefit children’s cancer research across the country. Kick-It utilizes national medical advisory boards to identify the most promising research studies and projects including the clinical research of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). The COG reaches more than 90% of the children with cancer in the United States.
